My Little Lavender Farm

The start of a new year brings an addition to my small business.  I am launching  “My Little Lavender Farm” this year.  I have been growing lavender for the past 5 years, and this year I decided to make it an official part of my small business, Gardens by You and Me.  I have almost 50 plants located throughout my landscape.  I have four varieties:  Grosso Blue, Fat Spike Grosso, Hidcote, and Phenomenal.

I have fallen in love with growing, tending, harvesting, and marketing my lavender.  Last year there were thousands of stems available during the fresh cut season which runs in June and July.  Hundreds of stems were available for dried bouquets then dried buds available in crafting quality and culinary quality.

It is a challenge to grow lavender in our area of the world.  We have rains and humidity which lavender is not tolerant of most of the time.  Through trial and error, I have gained some knowledge and I am growing in success with my little farm.

I will continue to learn and grow this hobby business along side my landscape design and consulting business.  I have to say with much gratitude…I am doing what I love, and I am loving what I do!

Happy New Year to you.
